* Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng on September 11 met with leaders attending the 15th China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, to be held from Sept. 12 to 15 in Nanning, the capital city of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

* UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura on September 11 continued to meet diplomats from Iran, Russia and Turkey in Geneva to discuss the process of moving forward to end the Syrian conflict with constitution-related discussions.

* Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on September 11 called for promoting sub-national cooperation to cement bilateral relations and benefit the two peoples.

* Americans commemorated September 11 attacks on Tuesday (September 11) with solemn memorials in major cities, and a presidential tribute to the victims 17 years after the deadliest terrorist attack on US soil.

* Members of European Parliament (MEPs) backed a resolution on September 11, saying that European Union (EU) regional development funds should continue to be allocated to support the peace process in Northern Ireland post-Brexit.

* The planned visit by the US President Donald Trump to Ireland in November has been cancelled, reported local media quoting official sources on September 11.

* Saudi Arabia is still committed to the unity, sovereignty and stability of Yemen through its support of the Yemeni legitimate government, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said Tuesday.

* Cypriots are among the top group of EU nationals with the longest life expectancy, which has increase by about three years between 2007 and 2016, data released by Eurostat, EU's statistical service, showed on September 11. Eurostat said Cypriot men rank fourth and can expect to live 80.5 years and Cypriot women fifth, with 84.9 years of life expectancy.

* Fifty illegal migrants from Pakistan and Afghanistan were found on September 10 hiding in a vehicle, Macedonian police officials reported on September 11 afternoon.

* China asks for the authorization from the World Trade Organization (WTO) to impose an annual trade sanction of US$7 billion on US goods, as a result of the failure of the United States to comply with a WTO's ruling, according to documents published on September 11 by the WTO.

* Floods have killed 44 people in Cambodia, including 26 children, so far, Keo Vy, a spokesman for the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM), said Tuesday. Floods have hit 22 out of the kingdom's 25 provinces, he said.

* The death toll in Tuesday (September 11)'s bus accident in southern Indian state of Telangana has risen to 57, officials said. Officials said the cause of the accident was negligent driving on part of bus driver.

* More than 1.5 million residents along the US East Coast are under mandatory evacuations as Category 4 Hurricane Florence is approaching, the authorities said Tuesday.
