NDO – Budget airline Jetstar Pacific announced on April 9 the opening of three new air routes connecting Da Nang city with Vinh city, Thanh Hoa province, and Phu Quoc island in Kien Giang province.

The three new air routes, using Airbus A320s aircrafts, were launched to meet the increasing demand of tourists and stimulate tourism development in the localities.

The Da Nang – Vinh flight service debuted on April 10 with three round-trip flights per week, on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The prices started at VND190,000 (US$8.18) for a one-way ticket, exclusive of taxes and fees.

Tickets will be on sale for the Da Nang – Phu Quoc and Da Nang – Thanh Hoa flights from April 15, with prices starting from VND890,000 (US$38.3) and VND370,000 (US$15.9) per leg, respectively.

To celebrate the occasion, Jetstar Pacific announced a promotional programme offering passengers tickets priced from only VND33,000 per leg on the three new routes. The programme will run from 11 a.m. on April 15 until April 17 for flights departing before August 11.

Also, yesterday in Hong Kong, Vietnamese budget carrier Vietjet Air announced the commercial launch of its new route linking Phu Quoc island in Vietnam’s Kien Giang province with Hong Kong and its operation plan for the Hong Kong market.

Four return flights will be conducted every week, starting from April 14, with each leg taking two hours and 45 minutes. Flights will start from Phu Quoc at 10:50 (local time) and from Hong Kong, at 15:40 (local time).

Speaking at the ceremony, Luu Duc Khanh, Vietjet Managing Director expressed his belief that the new flight service between Phu Quoc and Hong Kong, which is the first direct flight connecting the two destinations, will make the flying dreams of millions of people come true while enhancing the flying experience and reducing travel time for passengers.
