NDO/VNA - Hoi An ancient town in the central province of Quang Nam has been given the 11th place among the 19 cheapest holiday destinations in the world in 2019 in the annual Holiday Money report compiled by Post Office Travel Money.

In this report, the Worldwide Holiday Costs Barometer compares the costs of eight tourist staple items – a meal for two, a cup of coffee, a bottle of beer, a Coca-Cola, a glass of wine, a bottle of water, sun cream, and insect repellent – across 42 resorts and cities around the world.

Accordingly, Hoi An costs tourists only US$86.87 for a holiday, including US$2.35 for a cup of filter coffee, US$3.3 for a bottle of local beer, US$2.35 for a bottle or can of Coca-Cola/Pepsi, and US$6.6 for a glass of wine (175ml) at a café or bar.

In this Vietnamese destination, visitors only have to spend US$0.71 on a 1.5l bottle of mineral water, US$5.65 on sun cream, and US$2.35 on insect repellent at a supermarket.

A three-course evening meal for two, including a bottle of house wine, costs them just US$63.56 here.

The three cheapest destinations in the list are Sunny Beach of Bulgaria (US$45.01), Marmaris of Turkey (US$56.52), and Algarve of Portugal (US$62.61).
