Nhan Dan Online – The Museum of Southeast Asia, located on the campus of the Vietnam Ethnology Museum in Hanoi, is set to open its doors to visitors from December 1.

Vietnamese and international visitors will have a chance to enjoy various artistic performances featuring the cultures of Southeast Asian countries, such as contemporary folk dancing performed by artists from Thailand and Laos, traditional costume displays and folk games. Culinary treats from some Southeast Asian countries will also be available at the event.

The opening is a good opportunity for the public to learn more about ASEAN countries, exploring the similarities and differences between the culture of Vietnam and those of other countries in the region.

The Vietnam Ethnology Museum is currently running three exhibits on Vietnamese ethnic communities that reflect every aspect of their tangible and intangible culture. In the future, the museum will continue to develop displays and activities to gradually introduce visitors the cultures and lifestyles of Southeast Asian countries and other countries around the world.
