According to Truong Minh Sang, coach of Vietnam’s gymnastics team, Tung’s bronze was the first-ever medal for horizontal bar attained by Vietnamese gymnastics at the Asian championship. What’s worth noting is that horizontal bar is not a favourite event of the 1995-born athlete, who prefers the vault.

Dinh Phuong Thanh grabbed another bronze medal for Vietnam by finishing third on parallel bars with 14.933 points. Meanwhile, Le Thanh Tung ranked sixth with a score of 14.333 points.
