Motor racing: Dutch Grand Prix return set for Zandvoort in 2020

Formula One is set to make the most of Max Verstappen's popularity by announcing on Tuesday (May 14) the return of the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort next season after an absence of 35 years.

* Watford plan to appeal against the red card shown to Jose Holebas in their 4-1 Premier League defeat by West Ham United in the hope their defender will be allowed to face Manchester City in Saturday's (May 18) FA Cup final, manager Javi Gracia has said.

* Chris Hughton was sacked as manager of Brighton and Hove Albion after four-and-a-half years at the helm on Monday (May 13), the Premier League club said in a statement. Hughton led Brighton into the top flight in 2017, ending a 34-year absence, and they have just survived their second season despite failing to win any of their last nine games.

* China has banned an official for one year after the leading runner at a marathon was directed the wrong way near the finish, in the latest incident to taint the sport in the country.

* Italian champion Elia Viviani claimed the third stage of the Giro d'Italia, a 220-km ride from Vinci on Monday. Colombian Fernando Gaviria was second with France's Arnaud Demare coming home third.

* The Badminton World Federation (BWF) on Monday unveiled AirBadminton, a new outdoor version of the game, as part of a project to increase global participation in the sport.

* Palermo, who have changed hands three times this season, have been relegated to Serie C by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) for administrative irregularities.

* American Nicole Gibbs said on Monday she will miss the rest of the clay court season including this month's French Open after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
