Paris Saint-Germain made a comeback from their frustrating French League Cup elimination for a 3-0 road victory over Amiens on Saturday.

PSG had seen their 44-match winning streak in domestic cup competitions ended in Wednesday's French League Cup quarterfinals against Guingamp, while regrouping themselves back in the league through second-half goals from Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Marquinhos.

* Borja Baston earned high-flying Alaves a 1-1 draw at Girona on Saturday in La Liga after Cristhian Stuani's brilliant bicycle kick sent the hosts ahead. Alaves are in fourth with 32 points, ahead of European champions Real Madrid, fifth on 30 points, who face Real Betis on Sunday.

* Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde said the club were looking to sign a centre forward in the January transfer window after selling Munir El Haddadi to Sevilla. The league leaders want back-up for Luis Suarez after Sevilla agreed a one-million-euro (US$1.15 million) deal to buy Spain international Munir on Friday, leaving the Uruguayan as the only No. 9 at the club, playing between Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele.

* Ruben Alcaraz's perfect free kick earned Real Valladolid a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Valencia in La Liga on Saturday as the hosts' disappointing season continued. Alcaraz's brilliantly-hit equaliser in the 82nd minute kept Valencia provisionally ninth, upsetting frustrated fans in the Mestalla who whistled at their team at the end, while Valladolid are 15th.

* Struggling AS Monaco followed up the signing of Cesc Fabregas by reinforcing their midfield with Frenchman William Vainqueur joining on loan from Antalyaspor until the end of the season. The arrival of the ex-France Under-21 international, who had a loan spell at Olympique de Marseille in 2016-17, comes after Spain international Fabregas signed a 3-1/2 year deal on Friday.

* The arrival of Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min for the Republic of Korea's Asian Cup campaign will not change their approach to a tournament in which they have reached the last 16 knockout round, coach Paulo Bento has said.

* AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso has suggested that striker Gonzalo Higuain wants to leave the club amid reports of interest from Chelsea. The Argentina international is on loan at San Siro from Juventus this season but has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in this month's transfer window.

* Sevilla winger Nolito will be sidelined for around three months after breaking his leg in training, the Spanish club said in a statement on Saturday.
