The tournament will officially start this evening and run until February 1, and the Vietnam team will kick off their opening game on January 8.

To ensure the security and safety for Vietnamese fans in the UAE, the Vietnamese Embassy in the West Asian country recommends that fans buy tickets through the official website of the Organising Committee at www.afcasiancup2019.com.

In addition, it is necessary to bring proper luggage, clothes, personal belongings and necessary documents, while preserving them carefully, especially personal identification documents. Passport must be valid for more than six months.

Vietnamese fans should also behave and support their team in a civilised manner and with politeness, while restraining themselves and avoiding extreme/provocative behaviour in order to avoid conflicts with international fans and negatively affect the Vietnamese image.

They are also urged to strictly obey the local laws and respect Emirati customs and practices, including dressing smartly and discreetly, not using alcohol in public place, not going out when drinking alcohol, and smoking only in the allowed areas.

In case of emergency support, Vietnamese fans can contact the hotline of the Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE at +971.501.299,789, situated at Villa 147, Salama bint Butti (Street 23), Al Mushirif, Abu Dhabi; or the Vietnamese Citizen Protection Hotline at +84.981.84.84.84, or the UAE's emergency telephone number 999 (police, ambulance).
