NDO – A number of cultural and arts activities were held in Hanoi on May 22 to celebrate the success of the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.

An arts programme was staged at Thong Nhat (Reunification) Park by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Thang Long Music, Dance, Song and Theatre Group.

The event entertained audiences with dances and popular songs praising the Party, Uncle Ho and expressing love for the country.

More than 30 events of the same nature also took place in Hanoi’s suburban areas including Son Tay town, Nam Tu Liem and Gia Lam districts.

Earlier, a stamp exhibition opened at the Hanoi Post Office, 75 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hoan Kiem District, showcasing around 1,000 stamps depicting numerous milestones in the country’s history, as well as the land, people and cultural identities of Vietnam.

Yesterday evening, the Hai Duong provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism hosted an arts exchange at Doc Lap (Independence) Square.

The event featured melodies, the beauty of the country and its sea and islands through performances of artists from Hai Duong Cheo (traditional opera) Theatre.
