Traffic police urged to protect election of deputies to NA and People’s Councils

NDO – The traffic police force should closely co-ordinate with relevant forces to ensure safety for the upcoming election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for 2016-2021 tenure.

The requirement was made by Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh while inspecting the work of the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security to ensure traffic order and safety for the upcoming election.

According to Director of the Traffic Police Department Major General Tran Son Ha, the department has assigned specific tasks to its units as well as local police in provinces and cities in order to build plans to protect safety during the election.

The Deputy PM asked the force to analyse and forecast all situation as well as settle arising issues related to ensuring traffic order and safety.

At the working, Deputy PM Binh emphasised that the upcoming election is a significant political event for the whole Party, army and people; successful organisation will contribute to promoting socio-economic development, and ensuring national defence and security.

He urged leaders of the Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security and all traffic police officials and soldiers to resolutely handle violations and traffic accidents, as well as fight against illegal racing and offenders on traffic routes.

In addition to the election, there will be many other important events, in particular the working visit of US President Barack Obama in Hanoi. Ensuring absolute safety, order and security is a heavy mission, said the Deputy PM. He added that it is necessary to mobilise the entire political system, traffic police and other police forces to successfully fulfill assigned tasks.

On the same day, Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh worked with the Road and Railway Traffic Police Division under the Hanoi municipal Department of Public Security. He noted that the capital is the political, economic and cultural centre of the country so political security and traffic order and safety are important factors affecting the election’s success.

The Deputy PM asked the division to focus on ensuring traffic safety on key routes, particularly around polling stations, in order to avoid traffic congestion during the election.
