Vice President examine preparations for election in Nam Dinh, Thai Binh

NDO – A delegation from the National Election Council (NEC), headed by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, examined preparations for the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 term in Nam Dinh province on April 27.

After hearing reports by Nam Dinh province’s leaders, Vice President Thinh praised the province’s prepartions for the election and reminded local authorities to enhance communication to help people understand their rights and responsibilities in taking part in the election, and organise the election legally and democratically.

She also urged Nam Dinh province to enhance emulation and commendation through patriotic emulation movements in order to stimulate the province’s socio-economic development, contributing to realising the Party’s resolution.

So far, Nam Dinh provine has completed all directions from the central agencies on the preparations and a list of 11 candidates running for National Assembly deputies and 114 candidates running for provincial People’s Council deputies. The province also finalised lists of 654 candidates running for People’s Council deputies at the district level and over 10,000 candidates running for People’s Council deputies at the ward, commune and town level.

Lists of voters in the province were posted at headquarters of 229 communes, wards, towns and 1,739 polling stations.

Local authorities intensified efforts to address complaints and denunciations related to the candidates and the election, boost communication about the election, ensure social security, order and safety.

On the same day, the Vice President and her entourage examined preparations for the election in Thai Binh province.

After checking the preparations in Tan Lap commune, Vu Thu district, Vice President Thinh valued the locality’s efforts and asked the province to enhance communication about the election and encourage people to promote democracy and equality in selecting their representatives.

She asked local authorities to organise meetings with voters, and resolve complaints related to the election to ensure social security and order.

Thai Binh province had 1,464,503 voter as of April 12 and reported the NEC on 11 candidates running for NA deputies and the province’s Election Steering Committee on 114 candidates running for provincial People’s Council deputies.
