Stable electricity supply ensured during Tet holiday

NDO – Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has ensured thestable and safe supply of electricity during Tet holiday,from January 23-29, serving the demand of people across the country, the EVN has said.

According to EVN, electricity consumption during Tet holiday decreased sharply compared to the days before Tet.

The average daily electricity consumption of the entire nation during Tet holiday was about 29.7% lower than the average level of the week before Tet.

Power plants and the entire power transmission and distribution system maintained stable operation except for some problems caused by heavy rain and hail in some northern provinces and cities.

There were also no cases of electrical accidents reported during Tet holiday.

*Meanwhile, the Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Holding Corporation (Vinacomin) said that all of its coal mining divisions will resume operations on January 30.

More than 96,000 tonnes of coal were consumed during Tet holiday in Cam Pha, Quang Ninh Province.
