Vice President presents Tet gifts to policy beneficiary families in Tien Giang

NDO – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh visited and presented gifts for Tet to policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged children in Cho Gao district, Tien Giang province on January 13.

The State official directly presented 50 Tet gifts to policy beneficiary families and 50 gifts accompanied with scholarships to disadvantaged students in the locality. Each Tet gift is worth VND1 million and each scholarship is worth VND1 million (US$43).

In addition, 150 gifts and scholarships were handed over to the local authorities to grant to students living in difficult circumstances. The total of the gifts and scholarships donated are worth approximately VND300 million (US$12,980).

Addressing the presentation ceremony, Vice President Thinh expressed her delight at the socio-economic achievements of Cho Gao district and Tien Giang province in the past year which has laid down a good foundation for the locality to fulfill the set out targets for 2020.

She also encouraged disadvantaged people to overcometheir difficulties and escape from poverty while wishing the locals a new year of happiness and prosperity.

Vice Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Dung briefed the Vice Presidentregarding the local socio-economic situations in 2019, particularly their efforts in caring for policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged people. On the occasion of the Tet holiday 2020, Tien Giang province has spent over VND41 billion (US$1.77 million) to take care of policy beneficiary families.
