The legislative leader said she was impressed by the use of computers and smartphones to control fish feeding, water supply and drainage at the 600-hectare farm run by Nam Viet Corporation in Binh Phu commune of Chau Phu district.
The firm has a closed process from producing fry to raising, harvesting, processing and exporting of Pangasius fish to more than 100 countries.
Ngan said she expects Nam Viet to continue with the project while paying attention to environmental protection.
She also asked the local authorities to consider the farm as an agricultural model that effectively taps into the province’s strengths and to create the conditions for the company to grow, helping to modernise local agricultural production.
Later the National Assembly leader visited the Command of the An Giang Border Guard where she recognised the force’s efforts to ensure political security and social order in border areas.
She asked the An Giang Border Guard to continue in their firm grasp of the border situation and in cooperating with other forces to combat cross-border crimes and national security violation crimes.
The top legislator also called for efforts to build a Vietnam-Cambodia border of peace, friendship, cooperation and mutual development.
On the afternoon, National Assembly Chairwoman Ngan visited and presented gifts to a heroic Vietnamese mother and a veteran in Chau Doc, the capital city of An Giang province.
