NDO – The Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union launched a summer youth volunteer campaign in the Champasak and Attapeu provinces of Laos on June 23.

The campaign, which will run until July 5, features various meaningful and practical activities such as free medical examinations and drug distribution for 5,000 local people.

In addition, Vietnamese volunteers will share advanced techniques on cultivation and animal breeding as well as present seeds and agricultural tools to 500 farmers in the two Lao provinces.

The youths are handing over a computer lab for Attapeau provincial Youth Union and a mini reading room for Pakse Friendship School, while installing and donating an indoor playground for the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Preschool.

The Vietnamese side is also giving 800 gifts to local people and children living in difficult circumstances.

The campaign affirms the Ho Chi Minh City youths and students’ spirit of volunteerism and internationalism with the neighbouring country.
