Hanoi, central provinces face fierce heat, temperatures of over 41C

NDO – Sweltering heat is hitting Hanoi today June 22 with highest temperatures reaching 38-40 degree Celsius with some places are expected to suffer over 40 degree Celsius.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF), due to the influence of a western low pressure combined with southwest winds, northern and central provinces will continue to see intense heat, with highest temperatures of 36-39C and over 40C in some places.

In particular, high temperatures of 38-41C will hit Thanh Hoa to ThuaThien – Hue province today and tomorrow.

The heat wave will last for the next two days in the northern region while it is forecast to run for a week in the central region.

Rainfalls and strong winds are forecast to strike in the northern mountainous region on June 23-25 which may cause flash floods and landslides.

However, downpours will reduce on June 26-28 and the heat will return the northern region, with highest temperatures of 36-37C.
