NDO - Long-distance bus stations in Hanoi were thronged with people leaving the capital city for a three-day holiday that begins on April 13 to commemorate the Hung Kings, Vietnam’s legendary nation founders.

Our correspondents said that passengers had arrived at the bus stations since the early morning so as to catch the earliest buses.

To meet the surge in travel demand, the Hanoi authorities have increased bus trips by nearly 1,000 during the holiday.

Director of My Dinh Bus Station, Ly Truong Son, stated that the number of passengers on April 12 afternoon and April 13 morning shot up by 150% compared to a normal day.

The Hung Kings Commemoration holiday lasts three days until April 15.

Below are a number of photos taken by our correspondents at Giap Bat and My Dinh Bus Stations.
