NDO – As many as 80% of residents and organisations in Ho Chi Minh City have shown their satisfaction with public services, announced the city’s Department of Home Affairs at an online conference held on February 19.

The event, hosted by the municipal People’s Committee to review the city’s administrative reform in 2018 and set the orientation for work in 2019, was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of the city’s Party Committee, Nguyen Thien Nhan.

According to a report presented by the city’s Department of Home Affairs, a total of 767 public services in the city go online as of December 2018, with 655 of them being in the Level-3 category, which allows applicants to submit forms online, and 112 others being in the Level-4, which helps local residents and businesses settle payments online.

More than 90% of requests sent to the city’s one stop shop online portal in 2018 were handled on schedule.

Addressing the conference, Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan appreciated efforts made by the city authorities, departments and sectors in reforming administrative procedure.

He asked for comprehensive and synchronous measures and innovations to boost administrative reform, stressing that people’s satisfaction is an accurate measurement of public services’ efficiency.

He also called for increasing the use of information technology in order to streamline administrative procedures and shorten the time to handle procedures.
