NDO – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man has asked craft villages to continue safeguarding traditional Vietnamese cultural essences and promoting them to visitors at home and abroad through their productions.

VFF President Man, who is also Secretary of the Party Central Committee, made the requirement during his working session with the Vietnam Association of Craft Villages on February 15.

He emphasised that craft villages should be seen as a source to boost local tourism, create jobs for local employees and contribute to the local budget.

While asserting that the Party, State and the VFF always pay great attention to the development and preservation of craft villages across the country, he demanded that the association takes more drastic actions to encourage craft villagers to further uphold their crafts.

He stressed the need to listen to the aspirations of the association’s members in order to timely remove any obstacles and difficulties in their production and business.

The association was also urged to apply scientific and technological advances in production in order to meet the increasing demand of customers in the era of industrialisation and modernisation.

The same day, the VFF leader also visited pottery production models in Bat Trang pottery village in Gia Lam district.
