Christmas wishes extended to Dioceses nationwide

NDO – Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member and head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, visited and extended Christmas greetings to the Bac Ninh Province Diocese on December 21.

She affirmed the Party and State’s consistent policy of respecting and ensuring the people’s beliefs and religious freedom, meeting the legal and legitimate demands of religious organisations and religious people, and encouraging them to boost economic development and improve their lives.

The Politburo member asked the local priests, monks and Christians to foster close bonds and effectively implement the Party and State’s policies, as well as the teachings of the Pope and guidelines of the Vietnam Episcopal Council in the future.

Bishop Hoang Van Dat of the Bac Ninh Diocese expressed his thanks for the care from Mai and the provincial leaders for the Catholics followers’ religious activities over the past few years, while voicing his pleasure at the significant achievements that the province has attained thus far in 2018.

The bishop affirmed that, in his position, he would continue calling on Catholics dignitaries and followers to effectively implement the Party and State’s policies and laws, fulfill their citizen obligations, strengthen solidarity, and accompany the local authorities in local socio-economic development.

On the same day, Politburo member Mai had a working session with key provincial leaders of Bac Ninh, during which she congratulated the province on its significant socio-economic achievements in 2018. She urged the Bac Ninh authorities and people to continue fostering unity and strive to fulfill all of the socio-economic development goals set by the resolution of the provincial Party committee’s congress.

On December 21, a delegation of the Da Nang municipal Party committee, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front committee visited and conveyed Christmas wishes to the Da Nang Diocese, the Vietnam Christian Mission and the representative board of the Da Nang Evangelical Church.

Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, Vo Cong Tri, sent his greetings of a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to dignitaries, monks and followers of religious organisations across the city.

He wished that dignitaries, monks and followers of religions would continue to uphold their nice traditions, effectively implement the Party and State’s policies, and contribute to sustainably developing Da Nang and building it into a peaceful and worth-living city.

On the same day, a delegation of Ca Mau province’s fatherland front committee visited, presented gifts and extended Christmas greetings at Rau Dua Church in Cai Nuoc district’s Hung My commune.
