NDO – A string of activities is being held at home and abroad to observe the 74th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 29th anniversary of the All-people Defence Festival.

An exhibition featuring Vietnam’s generals in two resistance wars against the French and Americans opened at the Vietnam Military History Museum in Hanoi on December 20.

Works on display include nearly 200 photos, documents, and objects which highlight the care of the Party, State, and late President Ho Chi Minh to generals of the Vietnam People’s Army during the resistance wars, as well as portraits of the generals in major fights and battle fields in the wars.

An exhibition also commenced in Ho Chi Minh City the same day under the theme ‘Following the footprints of Uncle Ho’s soldiers’, showcasing photos and books on renowned Vietnamese generals and commanders.

The event aims to fuel the national pride and patriotism among the armed forces and people, particularly the young generation, thus encouraging them to safeguard the homeland.

A gathering of 471 retired army officers was organised in Dak Lak province yesterday, during which Fatherland Defence Orders were presented to 41 outstanding retired army officials in recognition of their service to the country.

The Thua Thien – Hue provincial Department of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Vietnam – Republic of Korea Friendship Information Technology College visited and presented 10 computers and books, worth nearly VND100 million, to soldiers and officers at the locality’s A Dot and Vinh Hien border guard stations.
