NDO – An arts programme was held in Hanoi on December 19 by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army and the Ministry of Public Security to mark the 74th founding anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army (1944-2018).

The programme featured songs and dances praising the fighting spirit, strong will and bravery of Vietnamese soldiers, thus encouraging patriotism and a strong sense of protecting the country among armed forces and people.

The same day, the Phu Yen provincial Party Committee, High Command of Border Guards, and Youth Union hosted a ceremony to honour outstanding young soldiers of the locality.

A gathering of retired army officers was recently organised in Da Nang city, during which the participants reviewed the glorious tradition of Vietnam People’s Army and stressed the importance of consolidating and enhancing national defence, security, political stabilisation, and social order.

A seminar themed ‘Forever shining virtues of Uncle Ho's soldiers’ took place in Hanoi yesterday morning. The event was held jointly by the Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People’s Army) newspaper in collaboration with the Department of Information and Training under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army.

The seminar heard 30 speeches by scientists and researchers shedding light on the great army values of Vietnamese soldiers and also promoting the campaign of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's thought, ethics, and style.

A symposium was also held in Da Nang city yesterday to review the theory and practical situation of national military and defence over the past 30 years of implementing the Platform on construction in the transitional period to socialism.
