Ceremony marks 115th birth anniversary of comrade Luong Khanh Thien

NDO – A ceremony was held in Ha Nam province on October 10 to celebrate the 115th birth anniversary of comrade Luong Khanh Thien (1903-2018), an outstanding communist who made tremendous contributions to Vietnamese revolution.

Addressing the event, which was held by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and Ha Nam provincial authorities, Politburo member Pham Minh Chinh, said that the ceremony provided an opportunity for participants to review the life, career, and contributions of comrade Luong Khanh Thien to the revolutionary cause of Vietnam, and in particular his hometown in Ha Nam province.

Politburo member Chinh, who is also Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC), and Head of the PCC Commission for Organisation, said that Thien set himself as a shining example of resilient revolutionary will and utmost loyalty to the Party.

The Party official asked Ha Nam provincial Party committee, authorities and people to promote solidary and make further effort to foster the locality’s socio-economic development and successfully realise tasks and goals set at the 19th provincial Party congress.

At the event, Acting President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh bestowed the ‘Hero of People’s Armed Forces’ titles to nine female fallen soldiers, who laid down their lives in Lam Ha ward, Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province during the national resistance war against the US.

A memorial house commemorating comrade Luong Khanh Thien was inaugurated the same day, displaying objects and mementos revealing the life and career of the respected communist.

Earlier the same day, a working delegation of Nhan Dan newspaper visited and presented gifts to relatives of comrade Luong Khanh Thien, and the nine female fallen soldiers, as well as families of war martyrs in Lam Ha ward.
