Greetings extended to Khmers on Chol Chnam Thmay festival

NDO - President of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) Tran Thanh Man visited the Khmer community in the southern city of Can Tho on April 10 to extend his warmest greetings on the occasion of the Chol Chnam Thmay festival.

At the Can Tho Society for the Solidarity of Patriotic Monks, Man briefed the Buddhist monks on the Party and State’s new policies towards the development of the Khmer people and the Mekong Delta region.

He affirmed that the Party and State always pay attention to the life of the Khmer people.

On the occasion of the Khmer New Year, he said he expects the Khmer community to continue to uphold their traditions and join hands to strengthen national solidarity and develop their hometown as one of prosperity and civilisation.

Receiving the VFF leader, Most Venerable Dao Nhu said that the living standards of the Khmer community are improving while local religious sites are being renovated.

He added that the Society always encourages the Khmer people to comply with the Party and State’s policies and take part in social movements launched by the VFF.

On this occasion, the front leader gave presents to representative monks from local Buddhist temples and visited the families of two revolutionaries in Can Tho.
