Sweden offers environmental scholarships to Vietnamese students

NDO - A Swedish climate change fund will provide 100 scholarships to Vietnamese students who wish to take postgraduate programmes on environmental and climate change studies in Sweden.

The information was announced on November 8 at the Swedish embassy in Hanoi where many Vietnamese students learnt of opportunities and scholarships on offer to study in Sweden in the 2016-2017 academic year.

According to Swedish Ambassador Camilla Mellander, Sweden is one of the world-leading nations in innovation, new technology, sustainability and equality, thanks in large to its elite and forward-thinking universities.

Vietnamese-Swedish film producer and actor Kim Ly, goodwill ambassador for study programmes in Sweden, said that the country places great importance on practice and creativity and that English is a popular language in the Northern European country.

Detlef Clöwe, representative of Uppsala University in Vietnam said Sweden can offer international students the experience of a different culture in a country where English is not the mother tongue but widely used in schools and daily life.
