NDO - Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen led a delegation of city leaders to salute outstanding local medical workers and their families on February 24 the occasion of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27).

Visiting doctor Doan Thuy Ba, Heroine of Labour and former Health Deputy Minister, the city’s Party chief conveyed his thanks and appreciation for the veteran doctor’s contributions to the healthcare sector as well as the country’s revolutionary cause.

Wishing her health and longevity, he expressed his hope the doctor would continue sharing her valuable experience with younger generations.

On the same day, the delegation visited the family of Vietnamese Heroic Mother and the late Health Deputy Minister Bui Thi Me (1921-2014), with municipal Party leader Nguyen Van Nen speaking highly of the late health official’s contributions to the country and the healthcare sector in particular.
