NDO – Doctors nationwide are being honoured on the occasion of the Vietnamese Doctors’ Day, which falls on February 27 each year.

On February 25, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh visited the Military Hospital 175 in Ho Chi Minh City to convey his best wishes to the hospital’s staff on the occasion.

The deputy PM highly praised the efforts made by leaders, doctors, soldiers and employees at the Military Hospital 175 over 40 years of construction and development, with professional activities to care for public health in the sea and island areas, especially in the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, as well as positive contributions to healthcare in remote areas, the Central Highlands and neighbouring Cambodia.

He also hailed the hospital for its successful deployment of a field hospital in South Sudan in 2018, as it was the first time Vietnam has sent its troops abroad to participate in the UN Peacekeeping force, thereby affirming the responsibility and position of the country and the People's Army of Vietnam.

Deputy PM Binh also urged the military hospital to continue to innovate strongly and completely in order to improve the quality of medical examinations and treatment for the people and soldiers, while effectively coordinating military and civilian medical work and promoting high-tech and international integration to develop the hospital into a multi-functional medical complex with international standards.

Also at the Military Hospital 175, Deputy PM Binh, through an online TV programme connecting with Truong Sa, expressed his best wishes to officers and soldiers on the archipelago, especially the medical staff at the Truong Sa Medical Centre.

On the occasion, Deputy PM Binh planted trees at the Military Hospital 175 and presented 50 bicycles to soldiers and people in Truong Sa, as well as to the families of soldiers on duty at the Vietnam’s Military Field Hospital 2.1 in South Sudan.
