NDO – Nhan Dan Online, in coordination with Vietnam Social Security, organised an online forum at the Party newspaper’s headquarters in Hanoi on November 30, to discuss new changes in the health insurance policy, which will come into effect from December 1, 2018.

Accordingly, Decree No. 146/2018/NĐ-CP, detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles under the Law on Health Insurance, and featuring multiple new changes, will officially come into force starting from next month.

The document has a number of notable contents, in replacement of the Decree 105/2014/NĐ-CP, with an aim of updating the health insurance policy to suit the new situation, while solving difficulties arising in the implementation of the health insurance policy in recent years.

By the end of October this year, the number of people participating in health insurance was 82.33 million people, reaching a coverage rate of 87.62% of the population. As a result, new changes in the health insurance policy have attracted great attention from Nhan Dan readers.

Invited guests at the forum were leaders from public agencies responsible for issuing and implementing health policies, as well as health experts from other related units under the Ministry of Health and the Vietnam Social Security.

They directly responded to questions from readers concerning the contents of the new points in the health insurance policy, especially those related to the implementation of grassroots health insurance, the expansion on the subjects to receive health insurance, and the increase in the benefits for health insurance card holders in medical examination and treatment, towards the increased coverage of health insurance for the whole of the population.
