NDO – A total of 30 French and Vietnamese-French health experts and medical workers have been awarded ‘For People’s Health’ insignias in recognition of their contributions to Vietnam’s health sector.

The accolades were presented at a ceremony in Paris on June 15 by Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, who is on a working visit to France.

Addressing the event, Minister Tien highly valued and thanked the honourees for their dedication to Vietnam, noting that, over recent years, hundreds of French doctors and experts have visited Vietnam to support the country’s health sector.

The French side has also transferred advanced technologies in health check-ups and treatment, as well as provisional services, helping to improve public health.

Over the past 25 years since the two countries signed an agreement on medical and pharmaceutical cooperation in 1993, more than 3,000 Vietnamese doctors have been sent to France to receive training, many of whom established themselves as leading experts when they returned home.
