NDO – On July 19, Vincent Floreani, Consul-General of France in Ho Chi Minh City, awarded the Order of Academic Palms to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dien, Vice Rector of the University of Economics and Law under Vietnam National University -VNU Ho Chi Minh city, on behalf of the French President.

The professor is a scientist who has been active in international cooperation, with a focus on the Francophone language in Vietnam.

He also is the first Vietnamese person to become an official member of the France Academy of Overseas Sciences.

Previously, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dien was presented the National Order of the Legion of Honour, the highest order of France, and a knight-hood for his contributions to developing Vietnam-French relations.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Francophone University Agency and is the President of the Francophone University Association in the Asia Pacific region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Consul-General of France in Ho Chi Minh City, Vicent Floreani, highly appreciated the contributions of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dien in developing Vietnam-France relations, especially in the field of education.
