Nhan Dan - The Long Dai Quang Binh Forest Industry Company on June 23 received forest management and chain of custody certificates (FSC/FM/Coc) granted by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

Long Dai company and Lam Truong Dak To company are the first two Vietnamese enterprises to receive such a certificate.

Currently, Long Dai company manages over 68,000 hectares of natural forests and has contributed to helping Quang Binh province increase its forest coverage ratio to over 70 percent—the highest in Vietnam.

FSC certification ensures that products come from well-managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.

Forest owners and managers may want to become FSC certified to demonstrate that they are managing their forests responsibly. Along the supply chain, FSC certification can provide benefits such as access to new markets.
