NDO - Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh had a working session on July 28 with the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to review the implementation of a directive on foreign legal, administrative and judicial reform cooperation.

He stated that the session aimed to analyse the impacts of foreign cooperation in the above-mentioned areas on the city’s socio-economic development and outline new orientations to enhance the effectiveness of international cooperation.

The Deputy PM said that evaluating foreign cooperation in these areas in HCMC is very important because HCMC is a large metropolis with deep international integration as well as the country’s economic engine.

Ho Chi Minh City is where many international cooperation activities in the southern region take place, including cooperation in legal, administrative and judicial reform issues, which has brought about concrete benefits, said Deputy PM Binh.

But he noted that there are also potential risks in such cooperation that could adversely affect the city’s decision-making process and destabilise its public security.

The city needs to share the lessons learned from its cooperation activities and propose the measures needed to increase the effectiveness of foreign cooperation in legal, administrative and judicial reform matters.
