Senior leaders meet voters after 14th NA’s seventh session

NDO - Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong and National Assembly deputies from Yen Bai province held a meeting with local voters from the five communes of Vien Son, Yen Phu, Xuan Ai, Yen Hop, and Dai Phac in Van Yen district, Yen Bai province, on June 17.

Local voters appreciated the responsibility of Party, State and NA leaders in making sound policies for socio-economic development and implementing drastic measures to fight against corruption.

They also suggested that the authorities pay more attention to issues at local level, including the repair of a suspension bridge in Yen Phu commune, connecting remote communes to the national grid, upgrading rural roads, reducing poverty rate, and others.

Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong thanked local voters from Van Yen district for their opinions while affirming the determination of the Party in fighting corruption. He noted that the Party and State always pay due attention to developing priority policiesaimed towards ethnic minority groups and rural areas to reduce poverty and improve the living standards of the locals.

He asked local authorities to promote local potential for economic development, particularly in expanding the farming areas of cinnamon trees and striving to reduce the poverty rate at communes to below 10% by 2020.

*On the same day, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh met with voters from Duc Hoa district in the southern province of Long An.

He briefed the locals about the results achieved after 20 working days of the 14th NA’s seventh session. He said that the Government will continue to materialise the laws and resolutions passed by the NA to make them come tolife.

* Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Organisation Commission, Pham Minh Chinh, also held a meeting with voters in Hoanh Bo district, Quang Ninh province, on June 17.

Local voters voiced their opinions on a number of issues including the relocation of thermal power and cement plants away from residential areas, promoting forest protection, the management of drug addicts, andpreferential policies towards teachers in remote and disadvantaged areas.

The Party official addressed some issues at the meeting while promising to send further opinions to the NA to seek appropriate solutions.
