NDO – Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Tong Thi Phong has asked the Cultural Heritage Association of Vietnam (CHAV) to diversify the forms of activities while boosting propaganda and education on cultural heritages in the country as well as the advertising of Vietnamese cultural heritages to international friends.

Speaking at a meeting with the CHAV delegation in Hanoi on November 20, Politburo member Phong praised the association for its significant contributions to the cause of protecting and promoting the value of national cultural heritages, affirming that the protection and promotion of cultural heritage values are the responsibility of the State along with all organisations and individuals in society.

CHAV should contribute more actively to the building of a cultural lifestyle, as well as encouraging the people to take responsibility for preserving spiritual products of historical, cultural and scientific values and preserving and passing down the voices and scripts of ethnic minorities, she stated.

A general view of the meeting.

The NA Vice Chairwoman urged CHAV to research approaches to reviving the fine festivals of the Vietnamese people and passing down the cultural, artistic and scientific works, oral literature, folklores about good lifestyles, traditional craft know-how, unique architecture, traditional medicine knowledge, and traditional ethnic food and costumes.

She suggested that CHAV organise and coordinate to organise scientific seminars surrounding practical issues posed for the cause of protecting and promoting the value of cultural heritages, while actively contributing comments and performing its function of social criticism on cultural heritages.
