NDO - Press agencies, particularly their leaders, should further uphold their responsibility, objectiveness, honesty, discipline and creativity in fulfilling their missions in the coming time.

Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong made the statement while attending an early spring press conference held at Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper’s headquarters in Hanoi on February 4.

At the conference, Politburo member Thuong extended his New Year’s greetings to veteran journalists, leaders of press agencies and press workers nationwide.

He also hailed the efforts made by the press agencies to contribute to the warm, happy, safe and healthy Tet (Lunar New Year) atmosphere around the country as well as in communicating information about the practical activities marking the 90th founding anniversary of Communist Party of Vietnam.

He also asked the press agencies to focus on promoting the image of Vietnam in 2020 – a year witnessing many major events, such as the Party’s 90th founding anniversary; the 130th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 9); Vietnam taking over ASEAN's annually rotating chairmanship and the presidency of the United Nations Security Council; and Party Congresses at all levels.
