NDO – The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) should continue to strengthen State management of religious activities as well as inspect and supervise the implementation of policies and laws relating to religions.

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh made the request whilst attending a working session with the GCRA in Hanoi on February 3.

Addressing the conference, Deputy PM Binh urged the GCRA to continue to popularise the Party and State religious policies and guidelines through the press, mass media and publications as well as to effectively implement the Law on Belief and Religion and other laws on religious work.

The Deputy PM also requested the committee to focus on ensuring religious security as well as to co-ordinate with relevant ministries, branches and localities to resolve the complicated religious problems in specific areas.

The State management agencies of religions at all levels should strengthen their management to meet the needs of religions in accordance with regulations of the law and make positive changes in religious life, he noted.
