NDO - The 35th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) closed on July 17 under the chair of Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

She said that after reviewing the parliament’s 7th plenary session, several lessons could be learned so that future meetings would be more effective.

The top legislator asked the agencies concerned to quickly complete the contents to be presented to the NASC in its meetings in August and September, noting that the upcoming agenda is very heavy and important.

Issues to be discussed include clarification to the planning law, a resolution on not organising the People’s Committees at the ward level in Hanoi, a resolution on dealing with tax arrears and a number of other resolutions.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Ngan praised the National Assembly Office for improving the software designed for the legislative body’s operations while asking the office to take note of the NASC’s opinions as the legal framework for building an electronic National Assembly.

The Chairwoman also called for closer connectivity between different government agencies in order to serve the country and people better.
