NDO – Bac Giang province should promote the development of key agricultural cultivation areas, while improving infrastructure and facilitating production and consumption of agricultural products.

The suggestion was made by Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong during his visit to work with local authorities in Luc Ngan district, in the northern province of Bac Giang, on June 15.

Reports at the working session showed that in promoting its advantages, Luc Ngan has focused on developing fruit trees of all kinds with nearly 28,000 hectares. In 2019, the total area of litchi in the whole district has reached 15,290 ha, with an estimated output of 80,000 tonnes. So far, the district has harvested and consumed over 44,200 tonnes of fresh litchi.

Praising the achievements of Luc Ngan in its socio-economic development, Politburo member Vuong urged the district to pay attention to maintaining sustainability in the new rural area construction.

He also suggested that Luc Ngan promote its advantages in fruit trees and continue to improve the quality and efficiency of its crops, to bring local products to hotels and high-end markets, as well as improving the quality of varieties.

During the trip, Vuong and his entourage also visited Ngot village - a typical model of new rural area construction in Hong Giang commune. In working with the local leaders, Vuong shared in the villagers’ joy for their achievements, stating that the new rural area construction model in Ngot village needs to be replicated.
