NDO - Vietnamese representative missions abroad should promote their role as an orthodox information channel of the Party and State of Vietnam in order to intensify external information work in foreign countries, a senior Party official stated.

Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, Vo Van Thuong, made the remarks at a working session with the heads of Vietnamese representative missions in the 2018-2021 tenure.

Politburo member Thuong, who is also head of the Central Steering Committee for External Information Service, emphasised that the 2018-2021 period will see many significant external activities conducted by the Party and State as well as national events.

Overseas representative missions should become a bridge to consolidate the relationships between Vietnam and countries across the world, while mobilising political circles and international friends to boost relations with Vietnam, contributing to enhancing the country's position within the international arena, the Party official noted.

Politburo member Thuong also advised the Vietnamese representative missions to foster the protection of overseas Vietnamese citizens and build plans to promote the Vietnamese culture, potential and strength to the world.

At the working session, the heads of the Vietnamese representative missions discussed and shared experience on the advantages and difficulties while working abroad.
