Ministries of Defence and Public Security hold exchange meeting

NDO – The Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Public Security held a meeting in Hanoi on August 15 to exchange work on the occasion of 72nd anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945-2017).

The event was attended by Politburo members: General Ngo Xuan Lich, Defence Minister; and Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security.

Addressing the meeting, General Ngo Xuan Lich emphasised that under the leadership of the Communist Party, the Vietnamese Public Security and Army have always been the core forces in protecting the country, as well as maintaining politic security, social order and safety.

The two forces have enhanced their ability to fulfil their tasks, becoming a firm and dependable support for the Party, State and people, he added.

The General also expressed his belief that the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Public Security would continue to make more efforts and closely coordinate to successfully accomplish the tasks entrusted by the Party, State and people.

Lieutenant General To Lam hopes that the Ministry of Public Security would continue to receive prompt and effective support and coordination from the Central Military Commission and Ministry of Defence, to ensure the country’s security and order, in addition to building a revolutionary, elite and modern people’s public security force.

At the meeting, Minister of Public Security To Lam presented campaign medals for protecting national security to General Ngo Xuan Lich and other leaders of the Defense Ministry.
