NDO – Radio the Voice of Ho Chi Minh City People held a ceremony in the Ho Chi Minh City on September 1 to mark its 40th anniversary, with Politburo member and Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh La Thang in attendance.

Over the past 40 years, VOH has continuously developed and attained a number of outstanding achievements, proving it worthy of being the voice of the people of the dynamic city.

Addressing the ceremony, Politburo member Dinh La Thang emphasised that VOH has overcome all difficulties to promptly report pressing issues related to the country, the city and the people.

VOH has contributed to communicating the standpoint of the Party, the State and the city to all citizens, added the Secretary of the municipal Party Committee.

He also stressed that over the past four decades, its programmes have become the indispensable “spiritual food” of millions of people in the city and that cultural and social movements launched by VOH have had a positive impact on mobilising people from all social strata to join hands to develop the city.

The Politburo member asked VOH to continuously innovate its operations to communicate truthful and useful information relevant to the daily life of the people, culture and the environment, as well as policies on studying, working and social welfare.

The agency should detect and reflect negative issues in society in a timely manner, including tax evasion, moral degradation, corruption and wastefulness, noted Politburo member Thang.

On the same day, VOH officially began broadcasts to radios and televisions in Dak Nong and Bac Lieu provinces.
