NDO – A number of activities have been held in provinces and cities around the country to celebrate 71st anniversary of August Revolution (August 19, 1945-2016) and National Day (September 2, 1945-2016).

On August 29, a delegation of Thai Binh provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at his commemorative site in Tan Hoa commune, Vu Thu district, Thai Binh as well as heroic martyrs.

The event was an opportunity for local people to remember and show gratitude to the martyrs, heroes and soldiers who have sacrificed their lives to the national independence, freedom and reunification.

An agriculture and trade fair for the northeast region, themed ‘Agriculture, Farmers and Rural areas with sustainable development’, officially kicked off at Vo Nguyen Giap square in the northern province of Thai Nguyen on August 28.

The event, running through September 4, features 250 pavilions by nearly 200 enterprises, organisations and farmers’ associations from 15 provinces and cities in the northeast region, introducing agricultural products as well as achievements in economic development in rural areas.

The fair also offered an opportunity for enterprises to meet, exchange and share experience as well as seek more business cooperation, expand their markets, attract more investment and improve their competitiveness for international integration.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee (HCYUCC) has held an exhibition themed ‘outstanding youths following Uncle Ho’s teachings’.

On display were more than 200 photos, documents and artifacts divided into five parts including ‘President Ho Chi Minh with the youth’, ‘The youths study, train and conduct scientific research’, ‘Youth volunteers for community life’, ‘The youths work, produce and internationally integrate’, and ‘The youths with national defence and maintaining political security, and social order and safety’.

The exhibits affirmed President Ho Chi Minh’s belief and appreciation of the role and position of the youths in the country’s revolutionary cause as well as featured the great contributions of younger generations to all fields during the years of the doi moi reform.
