North-western region’s culture and tourism promoted to Hanoians

The programme, entitled “The colour of Son La – north west”, was held at the Bat Giac House in the Ly Thai To Flower Park and the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake.

NDO – The unique cultural, tourist and culinary features of the north-western region, especially Son La Province, were promoted to Hanoians and visitors from October 23-25.

The event aimed to respond to the second tourism stimulation programme launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism while helping the capital’s tourists explore new destination in the north-western region.

The programme featured over 30 pavilions, displaying cultural and tourism products as well as specialties from Son La and other provinces in the region, including Dien Bien, Phu Tho, Yen Bai and Ha Giang.

Traditional agricultural products such as oranges, peanuts and tao meo (docynia indica) were introduced to visitors.

“Giant” custard-apples (also called Queen custard-apples), weighing from six taels to 1 kilogramme per fruit, are a specialty of Mai Son District.

Visitors enjoying cups of delicious coffee grown on the red land of Son La.

The sound of traditional musical instruments delighted audiences to the programme.

The pavilions attracted thousands of visitors on the morning of October 24.

Visitors contemplating beautiful photos on the culture, tourism, socio-economic achievements of north-western provinces, including Son La.

The event is expected to enhance the tourism cooperation between Son La and Hanoi in 2020 and the years to come.
