Hanoi vibrant with flags and flowers celebrating major holidays

45 years ago, under the leadership of the Vietnamese Party, the army and people conducted the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975, and successfully ended the resistance against the US with the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign at noon on April 30. Saigon City was liberated and the North and South were reunified.

NDO – Many streets in the capital of Hanoi have been decorated with national flags as well as colourful flowers, banners and slogans to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification Day (April 30), the 134th International Labour Day (May 1), the 66th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7), and the 130th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).
