Winners of environmental photo contest honoured

NDO – Nguyen Thanh Chung has won the first prize for the “Portray Air, Expose Pollution” photography contest with his picture ‘Trung tam nhiet dien mien Bac’ (Northern Thermal Power Centre).

The Centre of Hands-on Action and Networking for Growth and Environment (CHANGE) coordinated with the German Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City to organise a ceremony to honour the winners in Ho Chi Minh City on April 16.

The two second place prizes went to Pham Huy Dang and Le Van Cuong. Meanwhile, three third prizes went to Tran Ngoc Nam, Tran Van Tuy and Nguyen Minh Tan. The consolation prize was given to five authors whose works express well the theme of contest.

At the exhibition

The top 11 photos, along with 23 others, are being exhibited in Ho Chi Minh City, from April 17 to 28. After being displayed, the photos will be taken on buses to move to five major locations of Ho Chi Minh City to spread the message "Clean air, blue sky, raise awareness of all people on air pollution issues ".

Launched in December 2018, the contest attracted over 700 entries.

The contest, which was open to everyone, was launched to raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection.
