NDO – The Vietnam Fine Arts Association (VFAA) and Kiro Art Association of the Republic of Korea (RoK) co-organised the first RoK – Vietnam international fine arts exchange exhibition in Hanoi on March 27.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, painter Tran Khanh Chuong, who is President of the VFAA, said that, in recent years, the fine art circles of Vietnam and RoK have organised many fine art exhibitions in the two countries, contributing to introducing the art of each country to the public and enhancing the understanding of art between the people and artists of the countries.

The exhibition is an initiative of the Kiro Fine Arts Association and the VFAA. The Kiro Fine Arts Association currently has more than 10,000 members, mainly focusing on preserving and developing the traditional art of the ROK.

On behalf of the VFAA, painter Tran Khanh Chuong expressed his hope that the exchange relationship between the VFAA and the Kiro Fine Arts Association will continue to develop in the coming years.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Kiro Fine Arts Association Yun Bu Nam also expressed his wish that, after the exhibition, the RoK’s painters will have many opportunities to send their works to Vietnam to exhibit and he also sent invitations to Vietnamese painters to bring their works to the RoK for exhibitions.

The exhibition introduces 116 works by 110 artists, including 76 works by 70 members of the Kiro Fine Arts Association and 40 works by 40 members of the VFAA. Most of the works at the exhibition have been composed by artists of the two countries in recent times with various materials, schools, penmanship, and styles, showing the cultural and artistic characteristics of each country. The exhibition offers the public and Vietnamese artists an opportunity to enjoy and understand more about the RoK’s traditional and modern fine arts.
