NDO – Vietnam Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2015 will be held at Vietnam Television's studio S14 in Hanoi from December 7-10, offering a useful playground for young talents in the fashion industry to improve their skills.

Director of Melia Hanoi Celine Guyomarc'h, who is a delegate of the Vietnam Fashion Week’s organisation board, made the remark at a press conference held in Hanoi on December 4.

Vietnam Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2015 will introduce 1,000’s of the latest Spring-Summer designs from 27 domestic and foreign designers during three “Ready To Wear” nights and one “Haute Couture” night. The designs not only showcase creation but also lean towards wearability.

Among the domestic designers, Hai Sieu, Quoc Khai and Tien Dat, winners of the Muc Tim (Purple ink) Style contest, will take part in the fashion event for the first time. Of note, 18 year old designer Hai Sieu - the youngest designer at this year’s fashion week - will bring a collection featuring dreams of the younger generation, according to Vietnam's leading designer Minh Hanh.

Besides the latest collections by domestic designers, this year’s week will draw for the first time the participation of two designers from Italy and Malaysia, including Michele Gaudiomonte and Eric Choong.

Italian Ambassador to Vietnam, Lorenzo Angeloni said “Michele Gaudiomonte is a talented designer of Italy”. All his designs have been recognised as painting works by Rome Designers’ Association. To the event, he will bring a collection featuring the beauty of his country with Italy’s high-grade silk material.

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s designer Eric Choong will delight fashion lovers in Vietnam with a collection featuring a message that traditional values should be promoted through creation, and exchanges in the fashion industry.

“The participation of foreign designers in the event shows that fashion market in Vietnam has much potential”, designer Minh Hanh said.

In addition to individual designers, three fashion brand names, Elise, Charming Lys and GenViet will also take part in the event. Their collections will open three “Ready To Wear” nights, respectively. Among them, Gen Viet will bring new insight into jean material in the company’s first showing.

The annual event aims to create a competitive arena for designers, promote the Vietnamese fashion industry and offer new trends to meet the demand of Vietnamese fashion market.
