Israel & Vietnam Folk Harmony concert takes place in Lao Cai

NDO – The concert "Israel & Vietnam Folk Harmony” took place in Lao Cai on August 29, as part of activities to celebrate the 74th anniversary of Vietnam's August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2),

Co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee and the Embassy of Israel, the programme is an annual art and cultural exchange programme between the two countries.

The programme includes 12 performances of Israeli dance group "Hora Shemesh" and Lao Cai province’s ethnic art troupes.

The artists of the Hora Shemesh troupe entertained the audience with their energetic traditional dance repertoire, which featured diverse themes from folk to contemporary art, providing the Vietnamese audience with a lively perspective on Israeli life and culture.

Through the performances, the audiences had the opportunity to further understand about the culture of Europe, Africa or the Mediterranean which converge in Israeli dances.

Meanwhile, the Lao Cai province’s ethnic art troupes presented the audience special dance performances imbued with the cultural identity of Northwestern Vietnam through performances.

Speaking at the event, Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Nadav Eshcar underlined the importance of Israel-Vietnam diplomatic relations, affirming that cultural and art exchange activities contribute to promoting the bilateral relations and mutual understanding between the two nations while bringing the images of a beautiful Israel closer to Vietnamese people.

Established 25 years ago, Hora Shemesh, a large dance troupe, is renowned for their colourful costumes and uplifting music. Through their art, they paint an interesting picture of Israeli culture and life.

The group has performed in many countries, such as China, the Republic of Korea, Philippines, Romania, Turkey, Belgium, France, Macedonia and others. This is the group's second performance in Vietnam. Previously, "Hora Shemesh" performed in Hanoi on August 25.
