Vietjet opens new air routes to Phu Quoc

NDO – On July 29, budget carrier Vietjet Air announced the planned operation of six routes to and from Phu Quoc, under the framework of the Kien Giang Investment Promotion Conference, and under the witnesses of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Accordingly, Vietjet has plans to operate two new domestic routes connecting attractive tourist and investment destinations, namely Phu Quoc – Da Nang, and Phu Quoc – Van Don, with a frequency of seven flights per week from the end of this year and the middle of next year, respectively. Two new international routes, Phu Quoc – Chengdu (China), and Phu Quoc – Chongqing (China), will be operated with three round-trip flights per week from the end of 2019.

In particular, Vietjet’s two international routes of Phu Quoc – Hong Kong (China), and Phu Quoc – Incheon (Seoul, the Republic of Korea) will increase frequency to 6 flights/ week and 14 flights/ week, respectively, from winter this year in order to meet customers’ demands during the peak season of Phu Quoc – Pearl Island in the Southwest of the country.

Since the first flight to Phu Quoc in 2012, Vietjet has continuously expanded its flight network, connecting Phu Quoc to many provinces, cities, and other countries in the region, including China, the Republic of Korea, and India.

Vietjet’s flights have become important bridges connecting trade, tourism to facilitate residents, tourists and investors to Phu Quoc, Kien Giang, contributing to the change in local economy.

With outstanding economic and tourism potential, Phu Quoc and Kien Giang province are expected to become economic leaders of the southern region and attractive destinations for tourists and investors, especially with air transport becoming more convenient than ever with many new routes to be operated in the near future.
