The participants also made their assessments on the current situation and prospects of cooperation between Vietnam and Russia and proposed suggestions to functional agencies of the two countries to address existing obstacles and further promote the bilateral economic and trade links.

Speaking to reporters following the symposium, Ruslan Grinberg, Scientific Director of the Institute of Economics, said he was truly surprised at Vietnam’s economic achievements, adding that Vietnam and Russia should share experience with each other and increase mutual understanding.

Meanwhile, Dr. Prof Nguyen Quang Thuan highly appreciated the organisation of the symposium, which took place during a time when the two countries are celebrating the Vietnam – Russia Cross Year.

The event’s theme on the promotion of Vietnam – Russia cooperation is an issue of significance, particularly when the regional and global situation has seen new developments, he stated.
